Ivory Stormflute

This weapon is made from such extravagant and rare materials, it's almost certain some bored, rich elf came up with the idea. The mere matter of finding a beast which produces horns of just the right density, length and girth could keep you busy well into old age. Then, assuming you knew a craftsman skilled enough to hand-carve and assemble it with supernatural precision, you'd still have to supply the priceless metals and be able to pay the fellow. Sadly, most Ivory Stormflutes end up mere status symbols, on display in people's homes in lovely glass cases. Which goes to show, just because one can afford the cost of having one made for them doesn't mean one has the skill to actually use it, or the audacity to risk losing it in combat.
